“CB 4.2 Project-Earthquake Performance Assessment and Preparation of Structural Seismic Strengthening Designs for Cultural Heritage Buildings"-Archaeological Museum, Seismic Isolation of Modern Building

The Government of Turkey and International Bank of Reconstruction and Development (World Bank) have agreed upon a loan to implement the Istanbul Seismic Risk Mitigation and Emergency Preparedness Project (ISMEP) objectives of which are to improve the city of Istanbul’s preparedness for a potential earthquake through enhancing the institutional and technical capacity for disaster management and emergency response, strengthening critical public facilities for earthquake resistance, and supporting measures for better enforcement of building codes and land use plans. Within the scope of the ISMEP Project, “EARTHQUAKE PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT AND PREPARATION OF STRUCTURAL SEISMIC RETROFITTING DESIGNS FOR CULTURAL HERITAGE BUILDINGS UNDER THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE AND TOURISM, Contract No: CB 4.2” project is financed by a World Bank loan and implemented through the Istanbul Special Provincial Administration (ISPA). Istanbul Project Coordination Unit (IPCU) which is established under the ISPA is responsible for the implementation. The task of the SPC-SCA-OSM Joint Venture (awarded Consultants) is earthquake performance assessment and preparation of survey, restitution, restoration and earthquake strengthening structural projects for the three historical / cultural buildings identified below:
